Hit FXX comedy series The League will return for its seventh and final season in 2015.
Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, presidents of original programming at FX Networks and FX Productions announced earlier today that the series would return for a proper sendoff, consisting of a complete 13-episode season.
Created by Jeff and Jackie Marcus Shaffer (who also serve as EPs and directors), the series premiered on FX in 2009 before heading over to FXX in 2013.
“We are incredibly excited to work with our amazing cast for another season, especially because I can now announce that I finally won the fantasy football league that we play in with them,” said Jeff Schaffer in a press release.
“Whatever, I’ve won twice. Most players in the NFL don’t make it seven seasons, and most TV shows even less so. We want to thank FX Networks and all our Eskimo Brothers and Sisters – NFL teams would be lucky to have fans as diehard as ours,” added Jackie Schaffer.”
How will the series finale end? “Spoiler alert – We already know how it will all end – with credits and the theme song,” joked Jeff Schaffer.
The League recently wrapped up its sixth season and stars Stephen Rannazzisi, Katie Aselton, Mark Duplass, Jon Lajoie, Paul Scheer and Nick Kroll.
