Serial Scoop was first to report that Freddie Smith will be leaving Days of our Lives as Sonny Kiriakis. The actor reportedly stopped filming two weeks ago and should continue to appear on screen for the next five months. Smith first appeared on DAYS as Justin (Wally Kurth) and Adrienne’s (Judi Evans) son in 2011.

— DAYS has meanwhile put Wally Kurth on contract as Justin Kiriakis. The actor has been recurring on both DAYS and General Hospital for quite some time now. The contract at the NBC soap means that Kurth will soon exit GH as Ned. Daytime Confidential first reported the casting news. Kurth joins the list of ‘80s male leads are making a DAYS comeback as Peter Reckell and Stephen Nichols are also on their way back as Bo and Patch.

— Could GH also be losing Duke Lavery? It appears that Ian Buchanan is on his way out again according to TV Guide Magazine / TV Insider’s Michael Logan.

Molly Burnett finished filming her six-month return at DAYS this past December. Look for Melanie Jonas to leave Salem at the end of May, according to Daytime Royalty.

Patsy Pease will return to DAYS for five episodes this month as Kimberly. Theresa’s (Jen Lilley) mother last appeared on screen in December 2014.

Melissa Archer is also on her way out at DAYS, according to Daytime Confidential. Archer joined the soap last year as Serena Mason. The actress previously appeared on One Life to Live as Natalie Buchanan.

— Former All My Children star Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan) has signed on as a full-time correspondent and weekend co-anchor on Entertainment Tonight. The actor currently serves as host on the W Network’s Game of Homes.
