It’s Federal Election day in Canada and even John Oliver weighed in on it with a 15-minute-long segment, going over the controversies surrounding several riding candidates, NDP leader Thomas Mulcair‘s slip in the polls, Liberal leader Justin Trudeau‘s “emotional intelligence” vs the political savvy of his late father and then urged Canadians to not vote for Stephen Harper — which actually breaks a Canadian law which states that a non-citizen cannot try to influence a Canadian election! The violation could result in a $5,000 fine or a six-month jail term. (We’re totally cool with letting him off the hook).

Check out the video below (he’s also joined by Mike Myers) and then don’t forget to go out and VOTE.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver airs Sundays at 11 p.m. on HBO Canada.
