kyle lowder returning days of our lives

Kyle Lowder is returning to Days of our Lives but not in the role of Brady Black, which he played from 2000-05. Eric Martsolf assumed the role of Brady in 2008 while Lowder was on The Bold and the Beautiful (as Rick). “DAYS has always been very close to my heart. To be part of this family and this energy is truly special to me,” said Lowder in an interview with Soap Opera Digest.

While DAYS hasn’t officially announced who Lowder will be playing, rumour has it that he’ll step into the role of Rex Brady (which was played by Eric Winter from 2002-05). Farah Fath is also coming back as Mimi Lockheart for a “handful of episodes.” As DAYS films months in advance, no word yet on their first airdates.

This week on Days of our Lives: Stefan (Tyler Christopher) threatens Abigail (Marci Miller) with Chad’s (Billy Flynn) freedom on Monday (May 21). Brady (Eric Martsolf) is shocked to find his past waiting for him at home. Eve (Kassie DePaiva) shares the news of her engagement with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves). Chloe’s (Nadia Bjorlin) crushed and fearful when Mateo (Andoni Garcia) tells her some unsettling news.

Eve is shocked to see Theresa (Jenn Lilley) back in Salem and sharing a moment with Brady on Tuesday (May 22). Will (Chandler Massey) finds a new clue in Dr. Rolf’s diary. Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) romantic dinner date takes an unexpected turn. Lani (Sal Stowers) has a scare concerning her unborn baby.

On Wednesday (May 23). Chad argues with Melinda (Laura Kai Chen) to get a plea deal for Abigail. Jennifer supports Abigail, who is ready to accept responsibility for her actions. Kate (Lauren Koslow) learns her fate regarding her role in Vivian’s (Louise Sorel) “death.” Sonny’s (Freddie Smith) world is turned upside down when he receives stunning news.

Sonny realizes that Leo (Greg Rikaart) has been conning him. Abigail faces the music regarding Andre’s (Thaoo Penghlis) murder. Ciara confides in Hope (Kristian Alfonso) about pushing Tripp away. Xander (Paul Telfer) taunts Jennifer about her relationship with Eric (Greg Vaughan).

On Friday (May 25), Theresa attempts to guilt Eve into leaving Brady. In Mexico, John (Drake Hogestyn) and Paul (Christopher Sean) attempt to rescue Chloe. Brady confession his conflicted feelings to Marlena (Deidre Hall). Gabi (Camila Banus) learns a judge has overturned her conviction… but a new problem arises.

Here’s what’s happening in Salem during the week of May 28:

  • Victor (John Aniston) is furious when Sonny tells him about Leo’s lawsuit.
  • Stefan offers Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) a deal to help Steve (Stephen Nichols) regain his vision — but it comes with major strings attached.
  • Laura (Jaime Lyn Bauer) arrives to help Abigail integrate her personalities.
  • Back from Mexico, Paul and John reunite with Will and Marlena.
  • Marlena evaluates Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and tries to determine if he’s telling the truth.
