Looks like Mishael Morgan is set to exit The Young and the Restless as Hilary Curtis. TV Source Magazine first reported the news on Wednesday (June 6) that the Canadian actress would be leaving following unsuccessful contract negotiations.

Fans of the character and the Hilary/Devon (Bryton James) pairing are urged to voice their support by calling the CBS comment line at 323-757-2345. Twitter users can also tweet out to Y&R’s head writer/executive producer Mal Young (@malyoung). The timing for “Hevon” fans couldn’t be worse as Devon and Hilary have found their way back to each other and are expecting a child. Having Hilary and her unborn child perish in a car accident would be devastating.

Losing Morgan would be a big deal for Y&R. Although she joined the series in 2013 as a foil, her character has become Genoa City’s leading vixen, a soap staple following in the footsteps of Jill Foster Abbott — something much needed on this canvas. This would also be a huge blow to the series as far as representation goes in the daytime industry. Let’s hope that Sony and CBS recognize Morgan’s worth.

This week on The Young and the Restless: Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) stand their ground on Monday (June 11; Canadian airdates listed). Summer (Hunter Haley King) plays nice with Kyle (Michael Mealor). Jack (Peter Bergman) searches for his biological father.

Sharon’s (Sharon Case) character is questioned on Tuesday (June 12). Abby (Melissa Ordway) faces the truth about Arturo (Jason Canela). Neil (Kristoff St. John) discovers a clue about Dina’s (Marla Adams) past.

On Wednesday (June 13), Nick makes a chilling promise. Charlie (Noah Alexander Garry) is smitten with Shawna. Billy (Jason Thompson) presses Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) to make a change.

The Newmans share a tense Father’s Day on Thursday (June 14). Devon (Bryton James) and Hilary (Mishael Morgan) celebrate their reunion. Jack makes a surprising discovery.

Casting: Look for Jess Walton to return as Jill this July.

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on Global and CBS. Canadian viewers can catch up with Y&R on demand, on the Global Go app and online at GlobalTV.com.
