Friday sees two buzzworthy films premiere on streaming platforms: Netflix’s You People and Prime Video’s Shotgun Wedding.
New series Shrinking from AppleTV+ joins this week’s big premieres that include Extraordinary on Disney+ (check out the cast interview here), Wolf Pack on Paramount+, and Poker Face (Citytv+ and on demand in Canada; Peacock in the U.S.) while That ‘90s Show premiered on Netflix last weekend.
Michael B. Jordan hosts Saturday Night with musical guest Lil Baby on Saturday, Jan. 28. The Last of Us’ Pedro Pascal is on top for next week (Feb. 4; with Coldplay). Oscar nominee Michelle Williams joins Helena Bonham Carter, Russell T. Davies and Brendan Fraser on The Graham Norton Show on Jan. 28 on BBC First.

In Kenya Barris’ You People, families and cultures clash when two L.A. millennials from different backgrounds fall in love and face the ultimate relationship test: meeting the parents. The film stars Eddie Murphy, Jonah Hill, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lauren London, Nia Long, and David Duchovny. Begins streaming on Friday, Jan. 27 on Netflix.
Shotgun Wedding
Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel gather their loveable-but-very-opiniated families for the ultimate destination wedding in Shotgun Wedding. Supporting cast members include Jennifer Coolidge, Cheech Marin, D’Arcy Carden, Desmin Borges, and Lenny Kravitz. Begins streaming on Friday, Jan. 27 on Prime Video.
Shrinking
Starring Harrison Ford and Jason Segel, Shrinking follows a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives…including his own. Ted Lasso’s Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein serve as executive producers and writers alongside Segel. The series premieres on Friday, Jan. 27 on AppleTV+.
