Showcase will broadcast the first three seasons of Transparent each Friday night beginning July 21. The Amazon series, which previously streamed in Canada on the now-defunct Shomi, will premiere its fourth season this fall on Showcase.

Three episodes will air each Friday night from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET/PT — where each episode will have a runtime of 40 minutes to include commercial breaks.

Transparent follows retired college professor and transgender woman Mort Pfefferman (played by Jeffrey Tambor) who finally decides to live openly as Maura after keeping his gender identity a secret since childhood. When Maura tells her three grown children he news, she runs into the roadblocks of their collective self-obsession. Amy Landecker, Jay Duplass and Gaby Hoffman star as Maura’s children while Judith Light appears as Maura’s ex-wife.

The Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning series was created by Jill Soloway.
