In anticipation for Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo’s return tomorrow as Brenda Barrett on General Hospital, ABC is pre-empting its entire soap lineup today in order to air classic episodes that feature Brenda and her men (sorry All My Children and One Life to Live fans). Before you get too excited, unfortunately there’s no Jagger episode. ‘A’ channel in Canada will also simulcast the full GH lineup today.
In the first classic episode, Brenda prepares to marry Jax at the Quartermaine mansion…that is until Sonny arrives with Miranda, who is still married to Jax. The next episode features Brenda reeling with Sonny’s rejection at the altar. The third episode features Brenda and Jason’s Las Vegas sham wedding.
When Brenda returns tomorrow, here’s what you need to know. As hinted by Robin last week, Brenda’s a big time model and is the ‘face’ the Cartullo fashion house. She also spends her time working on a charitable organization called the Alliance to Save Exploited Children (A.S.E.C.) as she seeks to use her fame to gain exposure for the cause.
But as those who know Brenda, nothing is ever that simple. She’ll be facing threats from the Russian mob and will be attacked by a dangerous stalker. ABC has heavily promoted Brenda’s return with the fact that she’s got a secret…could this be a connection to Franco (James Franco)? Whatever it may be, the secret is set to cause havoc for the three men in her life: Jason, Jax and Sonny (hence the specific marathon episodes). Next week, expect Brenda to meet with Franco’s art dealer who asks her to be the face of Franco’s next masterpiece.
