— Looks like the new
Dallas might actually be good.
TV Guide has
reported that
Larry Hagman (J.R.),
Patrick Duffy (Bobby) and
Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) have all been asked to reprise their roles. Duffy told the magazine that “I read the script and was extremely impressed with it. I’d managed to read the scripts for the feature films Fox was planning a few years ago and they were atrocious. Just awful, so I didn’t know what to expect from TNT. But this read like one of the better episodes at the height of
Dallas.” Filming is said to take place in either Texas, Louisiana or New Mexico and will focus on John Ross and Christopher (Bobby and Pam’s son). The new show will focus on cousins John Ross III and Christopher.
— According to
E! News,
Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) will become a
series regular on
Glee next season.
Darren Criss (Blaine) was also
promoted to contract player status.
—
E! is also reporting that
Calista Flockhart (Kitty) will be written out of three episodes (including the big 100th with
Balthazar Getty). Meanwhile,
Beau Bridges will
appear as a love interest for
Sally Field’s Nora. Bridges previously starred with Field in the film,
Norma Rae. Bridges will play a man from Nora’s past (before she married William Walker).
— And some other recent TV news: Medium has officially been
cancelled, DirectTV will
premiere the 4th season of
Damages in Summer 2011 (no word yet on a Canadian premiere), NBC will
move Parenthood to Mondays at 10 p.m., Fox has
