Paul Rudd on SNL, Drake concert on Much, Glee wants more of the ‘Other Asian’ and more

— While Anne Hathaway hosts this week’s Saturday Night Live with musical guest Florence + the machine, the schedule for the next few episodes has been announced. Robert De Niro will host on Dec. 4th with music guest Diddy-Dirty MoneyPaul Rudd stops by on Dec. 11 with Paul McCartney and Jeff Bridges will host on Dec. 18 with musical guest Eminem.

— NBC has announced that they will launch a three-hour comedy block in January. The new lineup welcomes the return of Parks and Recreation as well as the Olivia Munn series, Perfect Couples. — MuchMusic will broadcast one of Drake’s recent performances at Radio City Music Hall. The 90-minute, Rogers Presents: MuchMusic’s Live in NYC with Drake will air next Wednesday, November 24 at 10 p.m.

— Looks like the new Dallas might actually be good. TV Guide has reported that Larry Hagman (J.R.), Patrick Duffy (Bobby) and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) have all been asked to reprise their roles. Duffy told the magazine that “I read the script and was extremely impressed with it. I’d managed to read the scripts for the feature films Fox was planning a few years ago and they were atrocious. Just awful, so I didn’t know what to expect from TNT. But this read like one of the better episodes at the height of Dallas.” Filming is said to take place in either Texas, Louisiana or New Mexico and will focus on John Ross and Christopher (Bobby and Pam’s son). The new show will focus on cousins John Ross III and Christopher.
— According to E! NewsHarry Shum Jr. (Mike) will become a series regular on Glee next season. Darren Criss (Blaine) was also promoted to contract player status.
— E! is also reporting that Calista Flockhart (Kitty) will be written out of three episodes (including the big 100th with Balthazar Getty). Meanwhile, Beau Bridges will appear as a love interest for Sally Field’s Nora. Bridges previously starred with Field in the film, Norma Rae. Bridges will play a man from Nora’s past (before she married William Walker).
— And some other recent TV news: Medium has officially been cancelled, DirectTV will premiere the 4th season of Damages in Summer 2011 (no word yet on a Canadian premiere), NBC will move Parenthood to Mondays at 10 p.m., Fox has benched Running Wilde for the rest of sweeps (surprise), The Simpsons will be back for a 23rd season and Connie Britton might join The Event.
