Kristen Bell, the new Dallas, Ron Swanson without a mustache and more


Kristen Bell has been cast in Showtime’s House of Lies alongside Don Cheadle. The series will also feature Ben Schwartz aka Jean-Ralphio from Parks & Rec!

Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor will join Annie Ilonzeh as the new Charlie’s Angels. Production on the ABC pilot will begin in March.

Jordana Brewster and Josh Henderson (Desperate Housewives) have signed up for the TNT’s Dallas update. Brewster wll play Elena, the cook’s daughter who’ll be caught up in a triangle with John Ross (J.R.’s son) and Christopher (Bobby and Pam’s adopted son). Original stars Patrick Duffy (Bobby), Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) and Larry Hagman (J.R.) have all agreed to return.

— Meanwhile, ABC’s ordered a pilot for another soap set in Dallas, titled Bitches. The series comes from Darren Star and follows mean girl Amanda who returns home after her marriage ends in scandal.

Chloe Webb, who played Nancy in “Sid and Nancy,” will play Frank’s estranged wife on Shameless later this season.

Josh Schwartz has got two new pilots in development. The CW’s Hart of Dixie, which also involves his Gossip Girl producing partner Stephanie Savage, follows a young doctor from New York City who inherits a medical practice in a small Southern town. Georgetown, for ABC, focuses on young people working in Washington.

Russell Brand will host the Feb. 12th episode of Saturday Night Live. Chris Brown is also slated to perform.

Glee‘s Heather Morris says she’d like to have Kristen Wiig and Justin Timberlake guest star. Glee airs a new episode following the Super Bowl this Sunday night. For a preview of the episode (which will feature a mashup of “Thriller” and “Heads Will Roll”), click here.
