— Saturday Night Live has announced its December plans: Paul Rudd (who’ll appear in Anchorman 2) will host the NBC series on December 7 with musical guests One Direction while John Goodman will host the following week with Kings of Leon. The Christmas episode, slated for December 21 will see the return of Jimmy Fallon and musical guest Justin Timberlake.
— Fox will change things up this midseason. Glee will move from Thursday to Tuesday (8 p.m.) while Brooklyn Nine-Nine takes over the 9:30 p.m. slot, giving The Mindy Project a two month hiatus between January 28 and April 1.
— Over at ABC, look for Revenge to move to the Sunday at 10 p.m. slot beginning March 9 while Suburgatory will return to Wednesday at 8:30 beginning January 15.
— Miranda Lambert will serve as mentor on Shakira‘s team next season on The Voice.
— Lifetime has renewed Witches of East End for a second season.
— Necessary Roughness has been cancelled.
— How I Met Your Mother co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas revealed a bunch of stuff to The L.A. Times. It’s quite the read if you want to know more about the planned spin-off, how we’ll see more of the mother in the 200th episode and what else is coming up this season, including an episode set in China. — Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will sit down with E! for a special one-hour special, After Shock: Heidi & Spencer, which is slated to air on December 9. Montag will talk about her plastic surgery and get this, Pratt’s working on political science degree at USC.
— Gossip Girl fans! Jessica Szohr has been cast in USA Network’s new medical drama pilot, Complications starring Jason O’Mara (Vegas, Terra Nova).
— Now one for The O.C. fans: Amanda Righetti is leaving The Mentalist.
— Bitten, Space’s new original series starring Laura Vandervoort, will premiere Saturday, January 11 at 9 p.m.
— Check out the trailer for the third season of Girls. Look for it to premiere on Sunday, January 12 with two back-to-back episodes beginning at 10 p.m. on HBO Canada.
