JFL42: Craig Robinson

craig robinson jfl42 review

When: Saturday, October 1, 2016

Venue: Queen Elizabeth Theatre

The Vibe: JFL regulars.

Previously On: Ray on Mr. Robot season 2, Darryl on The Office (U.S.) and Nick in Hot Tub Time Machine. (Can’t forget The Pontiac Bandit on Brooklyn Nine-Nine).

How Was It? Was more of a “sit down” than “stand up” as Robinson was on his keyboard.

Awesome medley of ‘80s and early ‘90s hits. “Don’t Stop Believing,” to “Just A Friend” — topical with this past week’s Empire. Even had jingles of “Here Comes the Bride” and the theme from The Office.

Despite all the musical call backs and coming up with that hilarious DJ hired to sing country square dance songs, it seemed that Robinson didn’t have enough material to fill his whole block. No hate on Dave Hemstad and Ralphie Roberts who opened for him, but I left wishing that I saw more of Robinson.

But we did get “Take Yo Panties Off.”
