In case you missed it, Days of our Lives has been renewed for a 55th season by NBC! “With writing that manages to weave together Salem’s iconic characters with current realities, Ken Corday and his team have ushered the show’s legacy into a new era that resonates with both longtime and new viewers,” said Bruce Evans, the executive vice president of current programming at NBC Entertainment. “The actors and crew have such a tremendous respect for DAYS and what it means to the fans. We believe that level of commitment shows through and touches our audience year after year.”

“It’s a great day in Salem! The sands in the hourglass will continue to flow for yet another year,” said executive producer Ken Corday. “We’re grateful to NBC and Sony for their continued support of the show and, of course, to our dedicated and passionate fans, we owe it all to you. Thank you for taking us through our 55th season. We can’t wait for you to see what we have in store.”

In addition to getting fan and critical praise, the soap has drawn solid ratings for NBC in the U.S. This renewal will keep DAYS on air until at least fall 2020. In Canada, Days of our Lives airs on Global.

This week on Days of our Lives: Xander (Paul Telfer) jumps into bed with a surprising partner on Monday (January 21). Victor (John Aniston) makes Brady (Eric Martsolf) an offer he can’t refuse. Gabi (Camila Banus) asks Kate (Lauren Koslow) for a favour. Eric (Greg Vaughan) makes a stunning discovery.

On Tuesday (January 22), Eric flips out over Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) betrayal. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) gives Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) bad news involving Jack (Matthew Ashford). Eve (Kassie DePaiva) encourages Jack to make a bold career move. Xander tries to pull a fast one on Leo (Greg Rikaart).

Jennifer and Eve have a heated argument over Jack on Wednesday (January 23). Jack bonds with JJ (Casey Moss), who warns his father about Eve’s deception. Haley (Thia Megia) gets to know Tripp (Lucas Adams) when she treats him at the hospital. Ted (Gilles Marini) asks Kate for another chance.

Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) makes romantic inroads with Tripp on Thursday (January 24). Haley and JJ grow closer. Chad (Billy Flynn) makes a big sacrifice for Abigail (Kate Mansi). Gabi and Stefan (Tyler Christopher) declare war on one another.

On Friday (January 25), Sarah tries to make amends with Eric. Jennifer warns Jack that Eve is using him. Haley reveals her secret to JJ. Brady and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) have a close moment.

Coming up in Salem during the week of January 28:

  • Sarah makes a startling confession to Rex (Kyle Lowder).
  • Leo is horrified when his mother turns up in Salem!
  • Jennifer pours her heart out to Adrienne (Judi Evans) about Jack.
  • Marlena (Deidre Hall) runs into Leo’s mom, Diana (Judith Chapman).
  • Leo hits on Brady.
  • Chloe is fearful as she receives a cryptic threat.
