Canadian viewers will get the chance to spend Valentine’s Day with Dirty John and Netflix.
Based on Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard’s breakout articles and true crime podcast, Dirty John tells the true story about how a romance between Debra Newell (Connie Britton) and the charismatic John Meehan (Eric Bana) spiralled into a web of secrets, denial, manipulation, and ultimately a fight for survival for not only Debra, but her entire family.
Juno Temple and Julia Garner co-star as Debra’s daughters, Veronica and Terra while Jean Smart appears as Debra’s mother, Arlene. Also appearing are Kevin Zegers (as Debra’s nephew, Toby), Judy Reyes (as Verga, a private investigator), Jake Abel (as Debra’s son, Trey) and Keiko Agena (as Debra’s colleague, Nancy).
The 8-episode limited series made it’s U.S. debut on Bravo last November where it became the network’s most watched scripted telecast in history. Britton was nominated for both a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Television Award earlier this year.
Dirty John premieres on Netflix in Canada on Thursday, February 14, 2019.
