Street Legal Revival Premieres on CBC

CBC’s Street Legal revival makes it debut this Monday, March 4 at 9 p.m. (9:30 p.m. NT).

The six-episode new season finds Cynthia Dale’s Olivia Novak as a named partner at a major Toronto law first as she prepares a massive class-action lawsuit against the manufacturer of a widely-prescribe and ultra-addictive opioid that her firm is depending on to keep them solvent during a time of upheaval and is blindsided when the case is stolen out from under her by a boutique law firm, who files with the courts first. This leaves Olivia’s partners questioning why she didn’t see this coming.

Cara Ricketts (Anne), Steve Lund (Bitten) and Yvonne Chapman (The 100) star alongside Dale as three tenacious young lawyers, Lilly Rue, Adam Darling and Mina Lee, whose mutual respect and admiration challenges Olivia and her usual methods.

The original Street Legal aired on CBC from 1987 to 1994 and up until Heartland’s 125th episode in 2014, was the longest-running one-hour scripted drama in the history of Canada television.

Street Legal airs Mondays at 9 p.m. (9:30 p.m. NT), with episodes available to stream at CBC.ca and the CBC Gem app.
