After weeks of rumours, Victoria Konefal has announced that she will be leaving the role of Ciara Brady on Days of our Lives.

In a statement to Deadline, Konefal thanked her fans and members of the cast and crew and welcomed the opportunity to guest star in the future:

“I cherish every moment I have spent working on Days of our Lives. It is an honour and a privilege to work in an environment filled with so much talent and passion in every direction. The experience and knowledge I’ve accumulated over the past three years is irreplaceable, and I’m forever grateful for it. I would love the opportunity to continue working with my castmates in the future, but at this time I will not be returning as a full-time cast member.

To the cast and crew, it was an absolute pleasure working with you. To the loving an unwaveringly supportive fans, thank you. Thank you for joining me on my journey of finding Ciara Brady. It was a beautiful one. Cheers to some of the best days of my life.”

Head writer Ron Carlivati was quick to wish the actress well in the next step in her career and hoped that she’d return to “visit Salem one of the days.”

Konefal is the latest cast member to announce their departure from the NBC soap. At the end of 2019, all actors were released from their contracts as producers (Corday Productions and Sony Pictures Television) dealt with tense contract negotiations with the network.

It was previously announced that Kristian Alfonso (Hope) and Greg Vaughan (Eric) heave each decided to part ways with the soap – Vaughan last airs in October, while Konefal and Alfonso will (separately) exit in October. Galen Gering (Rafe), Chandler Massey (Will) and Freddie Smith (Sonny) will be written out this September.
