Good news and bad news for fans of The Young and the Restless as Canadian actress Mishael Morgan (Amanda) has announced her decision to drop to recurring status with the soap.

In an Instagram post last week, the Emmy award-winning actress spoke about her decision to “step back” from her role on Y&R and recently wrapped up her return arc. “I just feel like that at this point in my life and at this point in my career, I wanted to mix things up a little bit, but Y&R will always be home.” The actress continued that she’ll continue to make appearances.

Morgan first joined Y&R in June 2013 as Hilary Curtis, a role she played for five years until she exited following difficult contract negotiations, resulting in Hilary’s tragic death. The actress returned in September 2019 as Amanda Sinclair, Hilary’s long-lost twin sister.
