Canadians will be included in the big return to Ramsay Street on September 18 when Neighbours premieres on Prime Video in Canada with brand-new episodes.
The continuation of the long-running Australian soap opera about the lives, loves, and challenges of residents on Ramsay Street in the fictional Erinsborough will star Alan Fletcher (Karl), Annie Jones (Jane), Candice Leask (Wendy), Emerald Chan (Sadie), Georgie Stone (Mackenzie), Jackie Woodburne (Susan), Lloyd Will (Andrew), Lucinda Armstrong Hall (Holly), Lucinda Cowden (Melanie), Marley Williams (Dex), Noami Rukavina (Remi), Rebekah Elmaloglou (Terese), Riley Brant (JJ), Ryan Moloney (Toadie), Sara West (Cara), Shiv Palekar (Haz), Stefan Dennis (Paul), Tim Kano (Leo), and Xavier Molyneux (Byron) as series regulars.
Guest stars include April Rose Pengilly (Chloe), Guy Pearce (Mike), Ian Smith (Harold), Jodi Gordon (Elly), Melissa Bell (Lucy), and Misha Barton (Reece).
A popular soap in both Australia and the U.K., Neighbours originally premiered on March 18, 1985, and ran for more than three decades until its initial finale at the end of July 2022. The series launched many household names such as Margot Robbie, Kylie Minogue, Guy Pearce, Natalie Imbruglia, Russell Crowe, and all three Hemsworth brothers.
Amazon’s revival of the series was announced in November 2022 with classic episodes (as well as full-season catalogues from 2012) becoming available on Prime Video in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa and on Amazon Freevee in the U.S. and U.K. this past February. Production on Neighbours resumed this past April.
“All the cast and crew are incredibly excited that Ramsay Street will officially welcome viewers again to the neighbourhood on 18 September in the U.K. and Australia, and also be introduced to brand new audiences in the U.S. and Canada when the new chapter of Neighbours is unveiled,” said executive producer Jason Herbison.
Neighbours previously aired in Canada on CFMT (now OMNI) from 1991 through 1994, and then on Global very briefly before the last effort on digital network OutTV from 2017 until 2019.
Neighbours will stream Mondays through Thursdays on Prime Video in Canada beginning Monday, September 18. In Australia, the half-hour soap will first air on Network 10 and then episodes stream on Prime Video a week later. In the U.K. and U.S., Neighbours will stream on Amazon Freevee.
