What to Check out at FAX EXPO Canada (2024)

FAN EXPO Canada returns this August 22 through 25, 2024, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, bringing together fans of pop culture, fantasy, horror, sci-fi, gaming, comics, anime, and cosplay.

The TV Watercooler has a roundup of the five things we’re looking forward to checking out this year’s event.

Activations: Disney+, Paramount+, and Prime Video

These American streamers sure know how to create some buzz:

Marvel Studios’ Agatha All Along booth will allow fans to experience “The Witches Road”! Agatha All Along will premiere on Sept. 18 on Disney+.
Paramount’s The Lodge is back with each room offering fans a new experience. A brand-new room making its debut at FAN EXPO is the ‘Star Trek Managerie’ which will display creatures from across Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: Discovery, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. There will also be an immersive Star Trek: Lower Decks photo op. There will also be an opportunity to pose with photos with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and be part of SpongeBob SquarePants’ 25th anniversary.
Prime Video invites attendees to step into Middle-Earth to create their own rings of power in an exclusive ring-making workshop with local Toronto Resin artist Jessica Rysyk. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power fans can also capture unforgettable moments at the epic interactive photo op, heavily inspired by iconic images from the series. The second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres on Aug. 29 on Prime Video.

Charmed: A Memorial to Shannen Doherty

Join Charmed stars Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan as they pay a heartfelt tribute to Shannen Doherty on Friday (Aug. 23) at 2:30 p.m. at the Main Stage (Constitution Hall).

Reunions: The Elephant Show and Ready or Not

Millennials get nostalgic:

Celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Elephant Show and sing some of your favourite songs from the classic Sharon, Lois & Bram series. Sharon and Bram will be joined by Randi (Lois sadly passed away in 2015) for a mini-concert. The Elephant Show 40th Anniversary Sing Along takes place on Friday (Aug. 23) at 1:45 p.m. in Theatre #2 (Room 206).
Retrokid reunites Ready or Not’s Laura Bertram and Lani Billard for a reunion panel! See what “Busy” and “Amanda” have to say this Friday (Aug. 23) at 4 p.m. in Theatre #3 (Room 701A).

Seinfeld Cast + Marisa Tomei

Seinfeld recurring guest stars Patrick Warburton (Puddy), Phil Morris (Jackie Chiles), Larry Thomas (The Soup Nazi), John O’Hurley (J. Peterman), and Wayne Knight (Newman) will be at the expo throughout the weekend for photo ops and then will appear at a panel on Sunday (Aug. 25), Masters of Their Doman: The Seinfeld Guests Who Stole the Show at 12:45 p.m. in Theatre #2 (Room 206).

Marisa Tomei, who had a memorable cameo on Seinfeld, will take fans behind the scenes with stories from some of her biggest projects – including My Cousin Vinny, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and The Wrestler. Marisa Tomei’s panel takes place on Sunday (Aug. 25) at 1:45 p.m. in Theatre #2 (Room 206).
