Big Brother Exit Interview: Mickey Lee

mickey lee big brother exit interview

Mickey Lee, the 35-year-old event curator from Atlanta, GA, was the eighth houseguest to be evicted on the 27th season of Big Brother.

The TV Watercooler had the opportunity to speak with Mickey about how Rachel makes good TV, why the house wanted her out, and how close Vince and Morgan have gotten.

How do you think Keanu’s HOH week went? Morgan saved herself and Ashley went up but you went home…Do you think that was his goal?

I think it went exceptionally well [for him]. To be honest, I think he wanted Morgan to go home but that didn’t happen. I think I was the next best thing [for him].

It’s no secret that I was coming for Keanu, so it was good for me to go home for him – that’s one less person that wants him out. I do think that I was a strong player who could have sent him home. Game-wise, it was a good decision for him.

I guess the house considered me a huge target and he got me out. So, it’s win for him for sure.

There was that big confrontation between him, Ashley and Rachel this past week. Was Rachel genuine or do you think she was just trying to stir the pot?

I think Rachel is definitely just trying to make good TV with every single thing that she did – and she accomplished that for sure.

I tried to stay out of that kind of stuff as much as I could, but it was very painful to watch those [confrontations go down] at times. It was very uncomfortable and painful to watch.

Were they exaggerating when it came to Keanu or is that he really spoke?

It’s very accurate with how he speaks. Keanu is not the nicest when he speaks to us in the house. I would never say that they’re lying about that, but I do think the drama that was attached to it was just prepared speeches. It was a lot, let’s be honest!

But it did make for good TV…

It does! Right? And I think that’s what some people are here to do.

You seem very stunned when Julie announced the eviction results.

I was so shocked. Yes.

You were also surprised that Vince voted to evict Ashley instead?

I was very shocked. But, you know, I respect that because Vince did tell me that he was not going to vote me out. He was a man of his word. So, I will give him that. I do appreciate that for sure. Based on our similarities and our journeys and just our conversations, I do respect that for sure. That is something that I can look back at and be happy about.

Have you had a chance to reflect on how the rest of the votes fell and that they decided to keep Ashley?

I’ll be honest, I think that Ashley is not as strong a player as me. So, keeping Ashley in the game is probably smarter. I think a lot of people can beat Ashley – she’s kind of been playing the middle, and I would say that it’s always better to keep floaters than people like myself around – people that would hustle for it and make big moves.

So getting me out might have been a really good move because I would have seen me going a little bit further. A girl like me would try to win that game, for sure!

Looking back, is there a particular relationship that you wish that you had cultivated a little more? Perhaps one with Ava?

No. Ava’s great, I love her but there’s not much of a relationship you can cultivate when she sleeps 24/7 – let’s be honest!

Who would you say that Ava was the hardest person to connect with in the house?

The hardest? I wouldn’t say it was the hardest… It was obviously hard when she slept the majority of the time!

But I think the harder people to connect with would have probably been Kelley and Keanu. Lauren as well.

Who was the easiest to connect with?

In general, I think the easiest person to connect with was, honestly, Jimmy.

I’m sure there’s a lot you both need to catch up on! Is there something that you are looking forward to watching from your time in the house?

I think the first thing I want to watch is the intro – I want to see what people actually do. I found out that Ashley is actually a lawyer, so that’s interesting!

I want to find out what people really do outside of this game. And that’s probably it. I don’t think I want to watch every single thing that happened – I’ve already lived it!

That’s fair. Did you notice how close Vince and Morgan were getting?

Absolutely. It’s no secret that they are extremely close. And I think that’s something that everyone noticed.

I know we are not able to contact anyone outside the house, so I’m not sure what he and his girlfriend’s discussion would have looked like based on what was going on in the house, but I’m curious to see what happens – just like everybody, that’s for sure!

You told Julie that you think Rachel will be out next week? Can you walk us through that?

Honestly, I think Rachel thinks she’s in a really good spot. Maybe I’m foolish and think differently, but I do think people want to see her go. I think that she thinks she’s closely knit with people right now, but I can see her potentially being out this week or maybe even next week.

Who are you rooting for?

At this point, I’m rooting for Will, even though he burned me and he burned me bad! I could support and still root for him to win this.

Who do you think will win?

I actually think that maybe Will could potentially take the win. Or maybe even Vince at this point.

This week, Big Brother will air Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Global and CBS. Canadians can stream Big Brother on STACK TV and the Global TV app.
