— Before we begin…I have to issue a pre-emption warning for CBS soaps later this week. Due to NCAA March Madness coverage, Y&R will be pre-empted on Global this Wednesday and Thursday and will return Friday – same situation for the NTV viewers. If you watch it on CBS and E! BC, no shows for you on Thu/Friday. B&B is pre-empted on CBS and CTV on Thursday and Friday, ATWT is pre-empted on CBS and Global on Thursday and Friday and lastly, GL is also pre-empted on CBS and E! on Thursday and Friday. Fresh new episodes of ATWT, GL and B&B resume Monday. No storyline interruption will occur.

Clementine Ford will be taking over the role of Mackenzie Browning, Katerine’s granddaughter on Tuesday, March 31st. Ford is the daughter of actress Cybill Shepherd and previously starred on The L Word as Molly. The role of Mac was originated by Ashley Bashioum from 1999-2002 and again from 2004-2005. Kelly Kruger (2002-2003) and Rachel Kimsey (2005-2006) also played the role. Viewers last heard about Mac when Brock returned for Katherine’s “funeral” last Fall and he announced that Mac couldn’t make it back from her relief organization in Darfur on time. This will be an interesting time for Mac to be back…not only because of the Katherine story, but with Billy back in town as well. Also returning is Roscoe Born as Tom Fisher…aka Terrible Tom when Kevin (Greg Rikaart) begins to have visions of his evil dead father.

Wes Ramsay (ex-Sam, GL; ex-Wyatt, Charmed) has been cast in an undisclosed role on Days Of Our Lives which has many online fans wondering if he’s the new Eric Brady. Sami’s twin brother was last played by Jensen Ackles from 1997-2000. Ackles was approached by Days producers a few years ago to make a guest appearance but he declined. Those hoping for former Passions stars to cross paths can rest easy…Galen Gering (ex-Luis; now Rafe on DAYS) and Eric Martsolf (ex-Ethan; now Brady on DAYS) taped some scenes a few weeks ago and should be on air in the upcoming weeks. Remember I told you about Darrin Brooks’ (Max) new pilot for Spike TV last week? Well, the college football-themed series has been picked up and will premiere this summer. Sam Jones III (seriously, I never got the “III”, now if he was the “IV”…that would be impressive) who played Smallville’s Pete also stars. No word yet if Brooks will depart DAYS.

Melrose Place’s Jamie Luner as been cast as the new Liza Colby on All My Children and will begin airing in late April or early May reports Michael Logan at TV Guide Magazine. New head writer Charles Pratt, whom Luner worked with on MP will reinvent the character who is now an attorney. Marcy Walker originated the role in 1981 and played it off and on until 2005. Walker was also best known for her role as Eden Capwell on Santa Barabara in the 1980s. The former Liza has since retired from acting and works as a Children’s Ministry Director in North Carolina.

— Nothing new to report on the rumored General Hospital casting bloodbath…you know, the horrible one where Liz, Lucky, Monica, Ric and Kate were all out. I guess no news is good news. Forget about Sonny’s MIA son Dante…the demon spawn Michael Corinthos is waking up from his coma…as a teenager! Newcomer Drew Garrett takes over the role of Carly’s aged son on April 24th. Reports suggest that Michael won’t actually “wake” up until May sweeps. I’m hoping he’ll embrace his Quartermaine roots and raise hell for his faux-dad Sonny. Also rumored to be developing a case of Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome is Kristina…who will probably be a much bigger trouble maker. Dylan Cash last aired as little Michael this past December.

Chauntee Schuler has already wrapped as Bonnie on As The World Turns; the show is looking to recast.

Zack Conroy has been cast a now-18-year old James Spaulding – the son of Phillip and Beth.

— The April 2nd episode of The Bold and the Beautiful will feature faux-flashbacks of a young Eric and Stephanie. They’ll be played by Chad Evans and Sarah Smick.

Kamar de los Reyes last airs as Antonio Vega on March 25th. Rachel Yamagata will pop by One Life To Live on April 2nd to perform a song from her new album, “Elephants…Teeth Sinking Into Heart”. Meanwhile, David Forsyth (ex-John, Another World) guest stars as a priest on the April 16th episode.

— That’s about it for the casting updates…quite a lot this week. Expect some spoilers later in the week.
