The Big Sunday

Tonight is probably the biggest Sunday on TV this season (besides the Superbowl, of course). Here’s a quick guide to tonight’s main highlights so you can figure out what to watch live, leave for timeshift or record.

Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures (8pm on HBO Canada): The new 8-part Canadian series is based on a short story by Vincent Lams and stars Shawn Ashmore (Iceman from X-Men). The series will follow a group of three young doctors who navigate through medical school, residency and their first years as a doctors in a busy downtown Toronto hospital.

The Simpsons (8pm on Fox/Global): Krusty falls in love with his new co-star, Princess Penolope (Anne Hathaway) while Mr. Burns puts an end to the plant’s free donuts. 

The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special – in 3-D! On Ice! (8:30pm on Fox/Global; 1 hour): Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock documents the 20 years of The Simpsons. Spurlock will talk to the cast as well as John Waters, Sting, Jimmy Kimmel, Moby and Jerry Springer.

Chuck (9pm on NBC/Citytv; 2 hours): The upgraded Intersect forces Chuck to attend spy school for three months while everyone else think he and Sarah are in Europe. Spy school and his relationship with Sarah don’t really go as planned.

Big Love (9pm on HBO Canada): Bill’s casino is about to have its grand opening. Alby has a close encounter with the state-appointed trustee of Juniper Creek and Nicki’s ex, J.J., allows their daughter Cara Lynn to stay with the Henrickson’s. Oh and we’ll finally find out of Roman died after his pillow attack.

Desperate Housewives (9pm on ABC/CTV): Juanita gets into private school and is shocked to discover her of Mexican heritage. Tom tries to step in for Lynette at work while Bree tries to make things up to Orson and Susan finds out that Mike frequents strip clubs.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm on ABC/Global): Nora decides to give her relationship with Simon another shot. Sarah takes an interest in a divorced dad from Paige’s school and Justin makes some progress with his studies.
