Dose.ca was invited to attend the media screening and panel discussion for The Real Housewives of Vancouver yesterday where we got to chat with all the housewives, Christina Kiesel, Jody Claman, Mary Zilba, Reiko MacKenzie and Ronnie Negus. The panel was moderated by ET Canada’s Rick Campanelli and also featured Christine Shipton, the VP of original production at Shaw Media and Louise Clark, the president and executive producer at Lark Productions.

The 2-hour series premiere of The Real Housewives of Vancouver airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET on Slice.
– Before settling on Vancouver, producers also scouted in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Calgary
– Out of 250 Canadian housewives, producers narrowed it down and settled on the five in Vancouver
– Vancouver is the unofficial sixth housewife…although there are rumours of an actual sixth housewife joining the show
– Once the franchise was licensed, RHOV producers were able to speak to the producers of the other franchises for help and guidance
– Most of the housewives don’t have any major regrets, however they are just worried about what their kids might see (or friends of their kids) – mostly applies to Ronnie in episode 3
– Jody doesn’t regret doing the show, but does regret saying some of the stuff she’s said
– The goal of the producers was to make the audience love the housewives
– Christina admits that she’s an “attention whore”
– Former pop star Mary will be releasing a new single
– Christina was in rehab with Britney Spears (more on this tomorrow!)
– Christina doesn’t own a computer, or a television – so she’s not on twitter
– Christina originally thought she auditioning for Desperate Housewives – didn’t know about the reality franchise
– The biggest problem in Christina’s life right now is her signature – she’ll have to get calligraphy lessons
– While not all of them get along on the show, the housewives decided to make nice during the press tour and to make the most of this
– Ronnie and Mary are both American imports – but are Canadians now
– Christina says: “Let us entertain you!”
