Slice sets Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiere, HBO library now available to Canadians and more

— Canadians hoping to catch the fifth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, will only have to wait a week. While the new season premieres in the U.S. today, it will have its Canadian premiere on Slice next Tuesday, November 25th at 10 p.m. Soap stars Eileen Davidson (The Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives) and Lisa Rinna (Days of our Lives, Melrose Place) join the cast.

— Subscribers to HBO Canada will now have access to back catalogues of popular programs! Past seasons of Game of Thrones, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, The Newsroom, Getting On and The Comeback are now all available HBO Canada On Demand and the TMN GO app in Eastern Canada, while subscribers in Western Canada can access the library using the Shaw Go Movie Central app, Bell TV app, Telus Optik on the go and HBO Canada On Demand. Next month, viewers will be granted access to more titles, including Girls, Strike Back, Veep, Banshee, Eastbound & Down, Treme and Vice.

— HBO has picked up its Westworld, the adaptation based on Michael Crichton’s 1973 film, which will star Anthony Hopkins. Hopkins will play an inventor who runs an adult amusement park populated by lifelike robots. Look for the series to debut sometime in 2015.

Alyson Hannigan will guest star on the Christmas episode of The McCarthys, airing on Thursday, December 18th at 9:30 p.m. on CBS.

— TV Land has announced that Hot in Cleveland will end after its 24-episode sixth season.

— CBS cancelled The Millers (a year too late) and has announced that the fifth season of Mike & Molly will premiere in its place on Monday, December 8th at 8:30 p.m.

— Former Lost star Evangeline Lilly is releasing a children’s book.

— Lifetime aired the Aayliyah biopic over the weekend and despite negative reviews, it was a gift to everyone on the Internet.
