The Amazing Race Canada returns for its third season tonight. We’ve got quite a lot of fresh TV in Canada on Wednesday nights. In addition to Race (9pm on CTV), there’s also Big Brother (8pm on Global), Rookie Blue (9pm on Global) and Suits (9pm on Bravo).

Kelly Rowland will appear on Empire next season as Lucious Lyon’s (Terrence Howard) mother (in flashbacks).

All My Children grad Cornelius Smith Jr. has been upped to series regular on Scandal.

Forever is still cancelled.

— The revolving door over at The View continues. Rosie Perez will tape her last episode on August 6. Michelle Collins, the comedienne not the British soap star will is expected to join the ABC talker.

Harry Shearer has struck a deal to stick around The Simpsons (he voices Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Smithers and more). He announced in May his decision to leave due to compensation.

— French actress Elodie Yung will play Elektra on Daredevil next season.

Entertainment Weekly has the first look at the new season of Fargo which will premiere this fall. The two clips feature Kirsten Dunst, Ted Danson and Patrick Wilson. Check them out here.

— The City TV / Netflix series Between has been picked up for a second season.

— The new Twin Peaks may not return until 2017.

— The official The X-Files Twitter handle began encouraging fans to re-watch all 201 episodes of the series yesterday, as it began the 201 days countdown to the new miniseries. In Canada, all previous seasons are streaming on Netflix. 201 episodes is a lot, especially with all the new TV this summer, so I’ll probably start off with the 10 episodes that Chris Carter says are essential.

Here’s the first footage from the big return on January 24th. Here’s Mulder and Scully doing what they do best: Busting into a room with a gun in one hand and a flashlight in the other.
