— There have been some big casting announcements this week: Soaps In Depth is reporting that Canadian actor Jason Thompson will be leaving General Hospital as Dr. Patrick Drake. The actor first joined the series in November 2005.

Could ‘Scrubs’ be riding off into the sunset together? GH is confirming the return of Kimberly McCullough in November as Robin Scorpio. McCullough shared with ABC.com that she couldn’t wait to get out of her scrubs and that she was “back to kick some butt and tell some truth!”

Executive producer Frank Valentini also announced today the return of Tristian Rogers as Robert Scorpio to Port Charles this December. Rogers, who last appeared on GH in January 2014, is currently appearing on The Young and the Restless as Colin — no word yet when he’ll last air in Genoa City.

“Scorpio is such a beloved legacy character who evokes a sense of nostalgia and I know the fans have been patientiently waiting for Tristan’s return. I share their sentiments and enthusiasm and that our entire GH team in welcoming him home,” said Valentini about the iconic actor’s return.

The ABC soap also publicized the contract extensions of leading ladies Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) and Genie Francis (Laura Spencer) earlier this week. “We are thrilled that Genie and Finola will continue to make General Hospital their home for years to come. These enormously talented actresses have created timeless characters that resonate with our fans,” said Valentini.

Valentini teases one more announcement… “It’s been a fantastic week of casting announcements for GH, but it’s not over yet.” Who could he be teasing? Hopefully we’ll find out soon.

— With Thompson’s Dr. Drake leaving PC, could the ABC/City soap be casting a new doctor? GH has revised a previous casting notice for a caucasian male 32-37 they described as “very sexy, dynamic and charismatic.” They will now look for authentic British and Australian actors for the part.

Daytime Confidential is reporting that Lachlan Buchanan has been dropped to recurring status at The Young and the Restless. The Australian actor assumed the role of earlier this year. Jack’s (Peter Bregman) son with Diane was aged to an adult in 2012 with Blake Hood in the role. Hartley Sawyer then played the role from 2013 until 2014.

UPDATE: Nov. 2: Daytime Confidential broke that Burgess Jenkins will be leaving The Young and the Restless as Billy Abbott. According to their sources, Jason Thompson has been offered the role.

Candis Cayne, Transgender actress who first caught attention on ABC’s short-lived primetime soap Dirty Sexy Money and can currently be seen on Caitlyn Jenner’s reality series, will appear on The Young and the Restless this December, according to People magazine. The name of the character is Nona Richards and will serve as Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Stitch’s (Sean Carrigan) wedding planner, per Daytime Confidential.

Days of our LivesCasey Moss (J.J.) was arrested in Phoenix early Monday morning following an altercation at an Arizona Bar. Police told KPHO that the actor Moss was intoxicated and began an altercation with bar staff after being cut off. Moss was in town promoting the soap’s 50th anniversary.
