The 43rd Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 1, 2016.

ABC’s General Hospital, which airs on City in Canada, for Outstanding Drama Series, beating out The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS/CTV Two), Days of our Lives (NBC/Global) and The Young and the Restless (CBS/Global).

Mary Beth Evans won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Kayla Brady on Days of our Lives. The actresses nominated were Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren, Y&R), Kassie Depaiva (ex-Eve, DAYS), Finola Hughes (Anna, GH) and Maura West (Ava, GH).

General Hospital’s Tyler Christopher won for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Nikolas Cassadine, beating out Anthony Geary (ex-Luke, GH), Justin Hartley (Adam, Y&R), Christian LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R) and Kristoff St. John (Neil, Y&R).

Former Young and the Restless star Jessica Collins won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Avery Bailey Clark. Collins was nominated alongside Lauralee Bell (Christine, Y&R), Linsey Godfrey (Caroline, B&B), Peggy McCay (Caroline, DAYS) and Melissa Reeves (Jennifer, DAYS). 

Sean Blakemore (ex-Shawn Butler, General Hospital) won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series beating out Steve Burton (Dylan, Y&R), Bryton James (Devon, Y&R), Jacob Young (Rick, B&B) and Dominic Zamprogna (Dante, GH).

True O’Brien (ex-Paige Larson, Days of our Lives) won the award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series. Also nominated were Reign Edwards (Nicole, B&B), Hunter King (Summer, Y&R), Ashlyn Pearce (ex-Aly, B&B) and Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma, GH).

General Hospital’s Bryan Craig (Morgan Corinthos) won for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series, beating out Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer, GH), Max Ehrich (Fenmore, Y&R), Pierson Fodé (Thomas, B&B) and Tequan Richmond (TJ, GH).

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Obba Babatundé (Julius) won in the Guest Performer category. Other nominees included Anna Maria Horsford (Vivienne, B&B), Adam Leadbeater (Dr. Malcolm, DAYS), Dee Wallace (Patricia, GH) and Frank Runyeon (Angel, Y&R).

B&B’s won for Writing Team while GH won for Directing.
