While Canadians have access to Viacom’s new Paramount Network (previously Spike TV), we won’t be able to watch the new series American Woman when it premieres this Thursday (June 7) as the Canadian feed of the network will be broadcasting a rerun of Lip Sync Battle. It’s likely that the studio producers John Wells Production and Warner Horizon are still holding out for a deal with a Canadian broadcaster or streaming service.

There is still some good news — Canadians are able to stream the first episode of American Woman online at ParamountNetwork.com, as the network is offering a free preview of its new half-hour comedy series.

American Woman is set amid the sexual revolution and rise of feminism in the 1970s and is impressed by the real-life upbringing of The Real Housewives of Beverly HillsKyle Richards. Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) stars as Bonnie, an unconventional mother struggling to raise her two daughters after leaving her husband during the rise of second-wave feminism in 1975 Los Angeles. Bonnie relies on the help of her two best friends Kathleen (Mena Suvari) and Diana (Jennifer Bartels). Cheyenne Jackson and Greg Tupper guest star.

The 11-episode first season will premiere on Thursday, June 7, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the Paramount Network in the U.S.
