Alison Sweeney’s The Chronicle Mysteries movie series will make its way to Canada this April on Bravo. The film franchise makes it’s debut in the U.S. on February 17 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Update: The Chronicle Mysteries will make its debut in Canada on Sunday, April 7, at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.

In Chronicle Mysteries: Recovered, the first film in the franchise, Sweeney stars as novelist and podcaster Alex McPherson who returns to a small Pennsylvania town where she spent her summers to record her latest true crime podcast about the disappearance of a childhood friend. Alex teams up with local newspaper editor Drew (Canadian actor Benjamin Ayres; jPod, Saving Hope) to retrace her missing friend’s last steps.

The film series reunites Sweeney with veteran daytime soap writer Melissa Salmons (who is also on executive producer on the series along with Sweeney). Sweeney and Salmons previously worked together on The Irresistible Blueberry Farm, Murder She Baked: Just Desserts and Christmas at Holly Lodge.

Daytime soap fans can also look forward to seeing veteran actress Linda Dano (ex-Felicia, Another World; ex-Rae, AMC, OLTL & GH) appear in the third firm, “Vines That Bind.” Meanwhile, Sweeney will reprise her iconic role of Sami Brady on Days of our Lives, which was recently renewed for its 55th season, this June for a short-term story arc.

The Chronicle Mysteries will make its Canadian debut on Sunday, April 7, at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo with the premiere “Recovered.” The second installment, “The Wrong Man,” will premiere on Sunday, April 14, at 9 p.m., while the third film, “Vines That Bind,” will air on Sunday, April 21, at 9 p.m.
