Deidre Hall Previews ‘Fiery’ Days of our Lives Christmas

deidre hall possession interview days of our lives beyond salem

As a possessed Marlena continues to wreak havoc in Salem on Days of our Lives, Deidre Hall was able to give us a preview of a fiery Christmas Eve at the Horton house.

“There’s an actual fire on stage! It’s not really been done [before]. At one point, [a possessed]Marlena did burn the church, but this fire is real and she’s burning up the Christmas tree! We had Bill and Susan Hayes right there on set [as Doug and Julie].”

Hall confirmed to us that despite the special effects in previous parts of the storyline (like the levitation), the fire was quite real. “We were all careful and concerned. Enormous precautions were taken. It was quite a thing to behold! And Susan Hayes wielding a fire extinguisher was also a thing to behold!”

To read more of what Hall had to say about her current storyline, her 45 years on DAYS, and starring in the recent Peacock and STACKTV spin-off Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, check out our full interview.

Days of our Lives continues to air weekdays on Global in Canada and NBC in the U.S. Canadian fans can stream the series on and STACKTV, while American fans can stream on Peacock.

Another Christmas treat for DAYS fans this holiday seasons is the special, Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas which is now streaming on STACKTV in Canada and Peacock in the U.S. The holiday feature stars a slew of DAYS favourites including Hall, Alison Sweeney (Sami), Drake Hogestyn (John), and Eileen Davidson (Kristen) while Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Zach Tinker) work on Will’s new screenplay before a Christmas Eve deadline.

“You’re gonna expect this alternate reality version of Salem [in Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas], where relationships that people have are a little different. Everything seems familiar, but also new. It’s kind of a wacky ride through like a bunch of ‘What if’ scenarios,” said Massey in a recent interview with us.
