CBC will continue to broadcast Coronation Street during the 2022 Winter Olympics, but Canadian fans will want to take note of the new time.
Coronation Street currently airs weekdays at 7 p.m. ET, with an additional episode at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays. On Friday, Feb. 4, Corrie will air at 5 p.m. & 5:30 p.m. ET ahead of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics’ Opening Ceremony at 6 p.m. ET.
The popular half-hour British soap will then shift to airing on weekdays at 6:30 p.m. ET beginning Monday, Feb. 7 through Friday, Feb. 18. There will not be any late-night rebroadcasts or Sunday morning omnibus edition during the duration of the Olympics.
Episodes of Coronation Street will continue to stream on CBC Gem uninterrupted. It is presumed that CBC will offer additional episodes following the Olympics to get closer to the ITV airings as CBC will air and stream five episodes a week instead of six from Feb. 7 through Feb. 18.
Coronation Street will return to its regular timeslot (7 p.m. ET) on Monday, Feb. 21 on CBC.
