Canadians will get the chance to stream the second season (er, series) of The Traitors at the same time as it airs on the BBC in the U.K. beginning Wednesday, January 3, on Crave.
Host Claudia Winkleman will greet 22 new strangers as they arrive at the beautiful castle in the Scottish Highlands to play “the ultimate game of deception, backstabbing, and trust,” in the hope of winning up to £120,000 – which is over $220,00 Canadian.
For those new to the game, hidden among these players will be the “Traitors” whose job it is to secretly murder a player each night without getting caught. It’s then up to the other players, known as the “Faithfuls,” to try to detect who the traitors are and banish them from the game.
Those lucky enough to survive to the very end will get the opportunity to split the life-changing prize money. However, if a Traitor remains at the end – they’ll steal all the money!
“The new missions this year are epic,” says Claudia Winkleman. “The producers are so clever as the missions are incredibly important as it is a chance for the contestants to switch from strategizing and plotting. They get fresh air, they run around, they work as a team. The scale this year is beyond.”
The new season of The Traitors will premiere on January 3 with three episodes on Crave. New episodes will then stream each Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. In the U.K., The Traitors will air on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9 p.m. on BBC and stream on BBC iPlayer.
The second season of the U.S. version of The Traitors will begin streaming on Friday, January 12 on Crave and Peacock in the U.S.
The first season of The Traitors Canada recently wrapped up its run. Canadians can stream it now on Crave. Karine Vanasse will also be hosting the Québécois version (Les Traîtres), which will debut later in 2024.
