New This Weekend: Napoleon, Priscilla, The Regime and More

what to stream this weekend march 1 2024

Check out the new films Napoleon and Priscilla and the new series debuts Shogun and The Regime. New episodes of The Conners, Abbott Elementary, Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, and Curb Your Enthusiasm will also be available.

Napoleon

Ridley Scott’s 2023 epic Napoleon begins streaming on Apple TV+ on Friday, March 1.

Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby, Napoleon is an original and personal look at Napoleon’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine. The film also captures Napoleon’s famous battles, relentless ambition and astounding strategic mind as an extraordinary military leader and war visionary.

Priscilla

Sofia Coppola’s 2023 film stars Cailee Spaeney as a young Priscilla Beaulieu who meets Elvis Presley (Jacob Elordi), the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar who becomes someone entirely unexpected in primate moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, and a vulnerable best friend.

Priscilla begins streaming on Prime Video this Saturday, March 2.

The Regime

HBO’s six-episode limited series starring Kate Winslet is about a year within the palace of a modern European authoritarian regime as it unravels. After not leaving the palace for quite some time, Chancellor Elena Vernham (Winslet) becomes increasingly paranoid and unstable and turns to a volatile soldier, Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts), as an unlikely confidant. As Zubak’s influence over the chancellor grows, Elena’s attempt to expand her power eventually results in the palace and the country fracturing around her.

The Regime begins streaming on Sunday, March 3 at 9 p.m. ET on Crave. New episodes will air/stream weekly each Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.
