Jordan wins Big Brother 11

The season finale of Big Brother 11 aired last night and Jordan Lloyd was crowned the winner!

Because of this season’s ratings success on CBS and Global, the show presented a two-hour finale instead of the usual hour-long fare. I take it that CBS was worried that viewers would tune out if Jordan got the boot, so they decided that the final part of the three-part Head of Household competition didn’t take place until finale night. We saw Kevin win the first round last Tuesday after Michele’s eviction. On Thursday, the second part of the competition aired where Jordan beat nasty Natalie at a mental AND physical challenge.

The third part of the HoH competition was played out in the first hour of the broadcast last night where Kevin and Jordan faced off in a competition where they had to guess the answers that their evicted houseguests gave producers. It was neck and neck to the very end and Jordan brought in a surprise victory with the tie-breaking question. Jordan had mere moments to decide who she wanted to take to the final two and ultimately knew she had to get rid of Kevin if she wanted a good chance of winning. Kevin was evicted and joined the jury of six while Natalie stayed in the house with Jordan.

The jury grilled the two remaining houseguests and proceeded to vote. Jordan won by a vote of 5-2 where Jeff, Lydia, Michele and Jessie voted for Jordan while Russell and Kevin voted for Natalie…yup, not even Jessie wanted to vote for Natalie! “America” cast Jordan’s fifth vote to win since Chima was expelled and didn’t make it to the jury house.

Runner-up Natalie was awarded $50,000 for second place while Jordan took home $500,000. Jeff won America’s Choice — $25,000.

Overall, it was an intense two hours. I’m really happy with the way it worked out. I was so worried that the finale would be an upset like the time in season six when Maggie won (to be fair, she was the lesser of two evils since the runner up was Ivette). Great end to an exciting season…so was I the only one who thought that Julie was wearing a “Snuggie”?
