Lady Gaga on HBO, Arrested Development in The Guardian, DAYS Casting Shocker and more

— HBO is set to air Lady Gaga Presents The Monster Ball Tour At Madison Square Garden on May 7th. The special will be taped during her New York City stop on Feb. 21st and 22nd. We’re still waiting to hear if it’ll air on HBO Canada on the same night.

— MuchMusic will stream the 2011 BRIT Awards beginning tonight at 10 p.m. The ceremony is set to air tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 16th at 8 p.m.

— Battlestar Galactica and Law & Order: UK star Jamie Bamber has joined the cast of the new NBC pilot, 17th Precinct, which focuses on a team of cops who investigate magical crimes.

— Mitch Hurwitz explains how to get a sitcom (like Arrested Development or Running Wilde) cancelled.

— Rob Huebel (who played Holly’s ex, A.J. on The Office) has signed up for a role in Fox’s new comedy pilot, Family Album. The series is about a patriarch who decides to go on a vacation with his family so that they can spend quality time together. Each season of the show is expected to take place during one summer.

— Speaking of The Office, model-turned actress Cody Horn has been cast in one of the three new roles that are being added to show. The other two roles that are currently being cast include Stanley’s other daughter and a new male to the accounting department.

— While Lauren Conrad’s new show might have been too “high brow” for MTV, several other networks are interested in the series.

— Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Days of our Lives has already let go Natalia Livingston (also ex-Emily/Rebecca, General Hospital) as Taylor and has replaced her with Tamara Braun (ex-Carly, GH; ex-Reese, All My Children), who actually won an Emmy two years ago for her portrayal and mob princess Ava.

— In other soap-related news, Greg Vaughan (ex-Lucky, GH; ex-Diego, The Young and the Restlesstweeted yesterday that he had turned down a testing deal with DAYS. He felt that that it wasn’t substantial enough. Good for him, he’s an established soap star that should have just been offered a part (like Livingston was). Many fans have wanted him to play the new Eric Brady on the DAYS since he left GH.

— I hope that you’ve all been watching the North American Being HumanSam Witwer told Hollywood Life that a second season pickup “looking good.” When asked about a vampire matchup, Sam thinks that his character would beat The Vampire Diaries’ Damon (Ian Somerhalder) in a fight. What do you think?

— Here’s an extended promo for this Thursday’s episode of The Vampire Diaries. Damon puts together a dinner party for Elijah which also includes Alaric, Jenna and Andie. Meanwhile, Stefan decides to come clean to Elena about his past as a “bad” vamp, specifically, about how he would first stalk and then kill his victims.
