General Hospital won big at the 50th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Daytime Drama!
The ceremony, which was held on Friday, Dec. 15, from the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, saw the 60-year-old ABC/Citytv soap also win Outstanding Directing Team, as well as four of the major acting categories: Outstanding Supporting Actress for the late Sony Eddy (Epiphany Johnson), Outstanding Supporting Actor for Robert Gossett (Marshall Ashford), Outstanding Younger Performer for Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks), and Outstanding Guest Performance for Alley Mills (Heather Webber).
CBS and Global’s The Young and the Restless, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this past year, won the award for Outstanding Writing Team.
CBS and CTV’s The Bold and the Beautiful’s Thorsten Kaye won for Outstanding Lead Actor as Ridge Forrester, while Canadian star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood won her third Outstanding Lead Actress trophy for her role as Steffy Forrester.
Peacock and W Network’s Days of our Lives did not take home any wins despite its 10 nominations.
Young and the Restless alum Shemar Moore returned to the Daytime Emmys to present Susan Lucci her Lifetime Achievement honour. Check out TV Line for the other award show category winners.
