Here are some new shows that begin streaming this weekend or have premiered on TV this past week.

Challengers hit streaming this past week on Prime Video. The tennis film stars Mike Faist, Josh O’Connor, and Zendaya.

 — Four new episodes of CBC Music Live at Massey Hall are out and features performances by Leif Vollebekk, JJ Wilde, Broken Social Scene and highlights from the 2024 Polaris Music Prize. Now streaming on CBC Gem.

— Also new this week on CBC Gem is a new batch of Escape to the Country episodes, while the 8th season of The Great Canadian Baking Show premieres this Sunday, Oct. 6.

The Graham Norton Show is back for a new season this Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11 p.m. ET on BBC First with Demi Moore, Lady Gaga, Colin Farrell, and Richard Ayoade.

Nate Bargatze hosts this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live with musical guest Coldplay. 11:30 p.m. on Global and NBC. Also streaming on STACKTV, the Global TV app, and GlobalTV.com in Canada.

— BritBox premieres the second season of Suspect this Thursday, Oct. 3.

— Prime Video launches Faceoff: Inside the NHL – a new series that features insights from key players, their rivals and those in their closest circle – teammates, coaches, and family. Players included are  Boston Bruins teammates David Pastrnak and Jeremy Swayman; Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog; Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid and forwards Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman; Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk; Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg; New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba; Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander; Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes; and Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel. Premieres Friday, Oct. 4.

— New HBO comedy series The Franchise premieres this Sunday, Oct. 6 at 10 p.m. on Crave and HBO. A hopeful crew finds themselves trapped inside the dysfunctional, nonsensical, joyous hellscape of franchise superhero moviemaking. The series stars Himesh Patel, Aya Cash, and Billy Magnussen. New episodes drop each Sunday through Nov. 24.
