Big Brother Exit Interview: Katherine Woodman

katherine woodman big brother exit interview season 27

Katherine Woodman, the 23-year-old fine dining server currently living in Columbia, S.C., was the seventh houseguest to be evicted on the 27th season of Big Brother.

The TV Watercooler had the opportunity to speak with Katherine about her thoughts on Riley’s interaction with her inside the house and what drew her to him. Katherine also shares who she’d be rooting for if the final two comes down to Vince and Rachel.

Did the option of a showmance strategy cross your mind at all when you were preparing to enter the house?

No, not at all! I definitely thought that anything involving a showmance would be a massive detriment to my game, and would be very scary to be involved in one! Shockingly, as somebody going on a large reality TV show, I am actually fairly private.

So, I was like, there is no way I would ever have emotions [for someone] like that on TV.

What was it about Riley that reeled you in?

I think I admired Riley for his character. He cared for everyone in the house, including me. I saw it because we were constantly around each other, 24/7 in that house.

I saw how good a person he was, which is something that I really admire in all people – and all relationships.

Do you think Lauren using the veto on Vince kind of created this domino effect that ultimately landed you where you are now?

Yeah, I definitely can see how that created a massive effect for the week that followed. I think it is going to continue to have a bit of an effect in that house.

It sure did make things interesting! And it sure did make me have some quite emotional reactions.

So yeah, it hurt a bit. I did what I could to convince her not to use it.

With Riley already out, why do you think the other houseguests still saw you as a threat? Even against Ava?

I think that they partly underestimate Ava. They don’t really know who her targets are. Everyone kind of believes that Ava would never go for them.

If I had stayed, she wanted to work closely together. I knew too many people were safe with her, including me.

I guess I was viewed a little bit more of a threat because my targets were pretty clear about who I was going to nominate if I were in a position of power.

Morgan, Rachel, Ashley and Mickey were my top choices [to target].

How surprised were you when Julie revealed that alliance?

The surprise factor just solidified [what I felt]. I saw Vince waver a lot. I definitely thought he was involved [with them] more than just being “manipulated” [by them]. I had a lot of skepticism on that side of things – I thought that he had to have at least some sort of loyalty to these people.

But I did find [that theory] being solidified surprising.

I’m sure it’s been overwhelming coming out of the house and fielding all this concern over your relationship with Riley, for which I want to be as respectful and mindful as I can. Would you be okay to speak on how surprised you might have been to find out that there was so much concern over how Riley may have treated you inside the house?

Yeah, it definitely was not something that I considered at all in my time in the house or that it would be talked about, or even a problem. I felt like Riley made every day that I had in the house better. Every one of my good days there was because of him. He was genuinely my rock.

I was definitely surprised. By being with somebody 24/7, you get a very good read on them. Riley is a very good person, and I hope he’s doing okay.

I’m excited to talk to him and make sure that he’s doing okay, and that he knows he didn’t make me unhappy or uncomfortable in any situation in that house – and if he had been, I would have been very, very vocal about it.

Keanu has won HOH. Any predictions on how this upcoming week will go? Will he shake things up?

I am so happy he won. I think that it will make for such an interesting week.

[Laughs] I have no idea what the perception of him is [outside the house]. He has switched a few times on who he thinks he would put up as nominees, as far as I know. I think it could really go any way!

I think his nominees will definitely end up affecting that alliance that has formed and I think it could potentially make Vince regret his decisions a little bit more, as well. Even if Vince ends up staying, one of his alliance members will likely be gone!

Should Rachel be worried?

I really don’t know. At this point, maybe she should be? Or maybe she shouldn’t?

Keanu wanted her up last week, but I don’t necessarily think that even if he were the HOH, he would have made that move. I think maybe he wanted somebody else to do it [like Vince].

But he could also be bed up and over her at this point and just do it!

Besides Riley, who was the easiest houseguest for you to connect with?

Definitely Lauren. She’s my girl. I love her.

Who was the hardest houseguest to connect with?

Actually, Ashley. It was very hard for me to find a connection with her. I think we grew up very differently. We come from different walks of life. It was really hard to find much in common with her.

Who are you hoping wins?

I think that it would be absolutely hilarious to see Rachel and Vince as final two. If I were on that jury, no lie – Rachel would be getting my vote!
