The second season of Big Littles Lies premieres this Sunday, June 9, on HBO and Crave.

The new seven-episode season will explore the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will dray, loyalties will erode… the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom. 

Returning to the hit series as “The Monterey Five” are Reese Witherspoon (Madeline), Nicole Kidman (Celeste), Shailene Woodley (Jane), Laura Dern (Renata), and Zoë Kravitz (Bonnie) as well as their husbands played by Adam Scott (Ed), James Tupper (Nathan), and Jeffrey Nordling (Gordon). Meryl Streep joins the cast as Perry’s (Alexander Skarsgård) mother, Mary Louise.

The new season will be directed by Andrea Arnold, while Jean-Marc Vallée will serve as an executive producer. The second season was penned by David E. Kelley and Liane Moriarty.
