Hulu’s 8-episode limited series, Looking for Alaska, based on John Green’s novel of the same name, will premiere this Friday, April 17, on CBC Gem.

Miles “Pudge” Halter (Charlie Plummer) enrolls in a boarding school to try to get a deeper perspective on life and falls in love with Alaska Young (Kristine Froseth) and finds a group of loyal friends. But after an unexpected tragedy, Miles and his close friends attempt to make sense of what they’ve been through.

The series also stars Denny Love, Jay Lee, Landry Bender, Sofia Vassilieva, Uriah Shelton, Jordan Connor, as well as This Is UsRon Cephas Jones and Veep’s Timothy Simons.

Looking for Alaska is produced by Josh Schwartz (The O.C.), is set in 2005, and features some great alt-rock from that era.
