The 2024 Critics Choice Awards will air on Sunday, January 14 at 7 p.m. ET on CHCH in Canada.
Chelsea Handler will return as host for this year’s ceremony, which will air on The CW in the U.S. “I am very happy and excited to be hosting the Critics Choice Awards again this year, as last year was one of the most fun nights I’ve had,” said Handler. “There is no greater reward than making fun of actors and getting drunk with them afterward. It’s an honour.”
The Morning Show leads the television nominations this year with six nominations, followed by Succession with five and A Small Light, Abbott Elementary, Beef, Lessons in Chemistry, Loki, Reservation Dogs, and The Bear with four.
Barbie leads this year’s film nominations with 18, Oppenheimer and Poor Things follow with 13, and then Killers of the Flower Moon with 12.
Barbie star America Ferrera will receive the “SeeHer” award, which honours a woman who advocates for gender equality, portrays her characters with authenticity, defies stereotypes, and pushes boundaries.
Harrison Ford will receive the Career Achievement Award. The actor currently stars in the AppleTV+ series Shrinking and starred opposite Helen Mirren in the Yellowstone spinoff series 1923. Ford’s latest film was 2023’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and will next be seen in Captain America: Brave New World as Thunderbolt.
