New This Weekend: Only Murders in the Building, Koas, Such Brave Girls and More

Here’s what’s new (ish) and streaming this weekend in Canada:

  • Only Murder in the Buildings’ Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) investigate the murder of Charles’ stunt double and friend (Jane Lynch’s Sazz Pataki). The season premiere (which dropped on Tuesday, Aug. 27) finds our trio of podcasters rushing back to the Arconia from Hollywood for the latest mystery. New episodes stream Tuesdays on Disney+ in Canada.
  • A discord reigns on Mount Olympus and the almighty Zeus (Jeff Goldblum) spirals into paranoia, three mortals are destined to reshape the future of humankind. The contemporary retelling of Greek mythology boasts a stellar cast and soundtrack. The first season of Kaos (8 episodes) premiered on Thursday, Aug. 29 on Netflix.
  • Crave and APTN partner on new series Don’t Even where lifelong friends Violet (Leenah Robinson) and Harley (Victoria Gwendoline) navigate the throes of newfound independence after high school graduation, their unbreakable bond strained by diverging paths and adult choices during one tumultuous yet formative summer in Winnipeg. The series premiered on Aug. 23 with new episodes dropping each Friday.
  • Also new at Crave is British series Such Brave Girls created and starring real-life sisters Kat Sadler and Lizzie Davidson. The comedy follows sisters Josie (Sadler) and Billie (Davidson) and their single mum Deb (Louise Brealey) navigating life armed with nothing but poor judgement and self-esteem exclusively tied to people who couldn’t care less about them. The BAFTA-winning series premiered its first season last December on BBC Three and Hulu and will be back for a second season. All six episodes from season one are now streaming on Crave in Canada.
  • A young woman named Sam (Lupita Nyong’o) finds herself trapped in New York City during the early stages of an invasion by alien creatures with ultra-sensitive hearing in A Quiet Place: Day One. The film also stars Joseph Quinn and Alex Wolff. Now streaming on Paramount+ in Canada.
