Just like the original Jersey Shore series, Paramount+’s Canada Shore brings together 10 larger-than-life roommates from coast to coast onto the sun-soaked shores of Kelowna, B.C. They’re ready to part, flirt, and turn every night into a once-in-a-lifetime memory. But between all the hookups and hangovers, this wild crew becomes a family that laughs together, fights together and supports each other.
The TV Watercooler sat down with the whole cast to get the inside scoop on their summer together – with this first part featuring Christopher Brown (22, Toronto), Lila Romanin (20, Toronto), Gizelle Fray (25, Mississauga), Bauer Swystun (22, Toronto), and Ethan Maynard (23, Toronto).
Our first group wasted no time diving into the chaos of their first summer in the Okanagan. While early bonding involved a blur of margaritas and competitive drinking games, the group quickly realized they weren’t exactly “rule followers.” Their only guiding principle – “what happens in the Shore house stays in the Shore house” – was immediately tested by clashing personalities. Lila and Ethan, in particular, got off to a rocky start after a “mansplaining” incident involved a water bottle straw, though the group eventually found their stride, evolving from potential enemies to “best, best friends.”
The house was sent into a frenzy by a guest appearance from Jersey Shore royalty, Snooki. While some cast members were skeptical that the “Queen” would actually show up. Domestic life in the house was equally dramatic, featuring bizarre culinary habits like spaghetti for breakfast and Ethan’s “unseasoned” chicken.
Beyond the partying, the cast is determined to redefine the “polite Canadian” stereotype for a global audience. They warned international viewers that they aren’t just about maple syrup and igloos; they are ready to “step on toes” and bring a level of a bar-room drama that rivals any other Shore spin-off. From Christopher’s laid-back “slacker” attitude to the introduction of slang like “stiff panties,” the group is ready to put the Kelowna party scene on the map. As they look toward the future, the cast has their sights set on bringing their brand of mayhem to Toronto or Montreal for a potential second season – should they venture out of Kelowna.
Canada Shore is streaming on Paramount+.
