Cooler Talk: Heroes, Lauren Graham, Glee, Southland and Y&R’s Mr. Kitty

— For the very few who still watch/care about Heroes, get ready for a male lead to be killed off.  Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello posted a blind item this morning claiming that a lead actor of a onetime ratings powerhouse found out that he was out of job when he read his character’s death scene in the script. Hours later, Kristin Dos Santos over at E! Online reported that a major death would be occurring on Heroes.

— Speaking of Heroes, Claire kissed a girl last night…did you like it?

— So last Friday, NBC officially announced that Lauren Graham would be taking over Maura Tierney‘s role in Parenthood and rumors circulated online that the network could be bringing Chuck back earlier than next March. I was extremely happy that NBC was gracious enough to bring Graham and Chuck back to the tube. Well today they just go ahead and piss me off! The network has asked the organizers of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to rescind their offer to the cast of Glee to participate in the parade.  In the past, NBC has allowed non-NBC talent at the parade, including American Idol contestants and the cast of High School Musical. I guess they must just be too bitter this fall season that rival Fox has been able to get a hit this season. Glee creator Ryan Murphy‘s response to the whole un-invitation: I completely understand NBC’s position, and look forward to seeing a Jay Leno float.” I do have some good news for you gleeks, Fox is toying with the idea of having the cast put on a tour once the first season wraps production.

— NBC may have abruptly cancelled Southland last week but there may be hope. TNT is expressing some interest.

— While The Young and the Restless is beyond depressing these days, the producers decided to have some fun with cast members remembering the dearly departed Mr. Kitty. FYI, since CBS won’t allow Canadian viewers to check it out on YouTube, the good people at Soaps.com/SoapOperaFan.com have posted a Canada-friendly video here. As for the show’s depressing tone – I was relieved when they finally started showing scenes that took place outside of a hospital late last week…I was beginning to think Chance and Chloe’s first date was going to take place at the hospital.
