— General Hospital’s Roger Howarth (Franco; ex-Todd, OLTL; ex-Paul, ATWT) is heading over to The CW’s The Flash. Howarth will play the role of Mason Bridge, a Central City Picture News reporter. The role, which films in Vancouver, will be recurring. This isn’t Howarth’s first recurring gig in primetime, the actor previously appeared on Californication and Dawson’s Creek.
— Julianne Morris Polaha is returning to The Young and the Restless as Amy Wilson. The actress portrayed the role of Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) friend from 1994 until 1996 – longtime viewers will remember that it was Amy who shot Matt Clark (Eddie Cibrian) when Nick was arrested. With Amy back and this storyline being revisited, could it be revealed that Avery’s (Jessica Collins) ex-husband Joe Clark (Scott Elrod) be related to Matt Clark? The casting news was first teased by Soap Opera Uncensored. Morris Polaha is also known for her 1998-2002 stint as Days of our Lives‘ Swamp Girl turned Princess Greta (wouldn’t it be time she made a comeback and addressed who her father was?!).
— This is smart: Jennifer Gareis will return to The Young and the Restless next month as Grace Turner. The Bold and the Beautiful star (Donna) first returned for a special appearance this past summer (as Sharon’s former BFF and Nick’s lover) to shed light on the night that Cassie and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) were born. Look Grace to appear on the November 12th Canadian episodes (airs Nov. 13 in the U.S.).
— Meanwhile, look for Y&R’s Judith Chapman to cross over to B&B as Gloria on the November 20th episode. What do you guys think? Should Gloria make a more permanent move to Los Angeles to woo Eric Forrester (John McCook) since she’s not being utilized in Genoa City?
— Justin Hartley gave a great interview with The Wrap about his upcoming debut as The Young and the Restless’ new Adam Newman. Check it out here. He’s welcoming viewer feedback after taking over the role from Michael Muhney, “People are going to have their opinions, which is great.”
— Look for Y&R newcomers Justin Hartley (New Adam), Gina Tognoni (New Phyllis), Burgess Jenkins (Grandpa Billy) and Scott Eldrod (Joe) to appear on the Friday, October 24th episode of CBS’ The Talk (airs on Global in Canada).
— Former Guiding Light and One Life to Live star Crystal Hunt was sentenced to three years probation after she threw glass at a woman. Soap fans can catch the “Morasco Fiasco” star in the upcoming POP reality series Queens of Drama (which will also star Vanessa Marcil and Lindsay Hartley).
SOAP TALK: Should Michael Graziadei return to The Young and the Restless?
With Lifetime cancelling The Lottery, should Michael Graziadei return to The Young and the Restless as Daniel?
There’s plenty of story for Daniel in Genoa City, Phyllis is (Gina Tognoni) out of her coma and it would make sense for Daniel to return from whatever art trip Victor (Eric Braeden) pulled strings to get him on.
Not just that, there’s the Mariah (Camryn Grimes) factor. Let’s revisit Daniel’s guilt from the night that Cassie died almost ten years ago. While Daniel left town with Heather (last played by Jennifer Landon), let’s keep him single for awhile to see if there’s any spark between him and Grimes’ Mariah or Melissa Ordway’s version of Abby. Better yet, maybe Lily (Christel Khalil) could turn to Daniel once she finds out that Cane (Daniel Goddard) help cover up Devon (Bryton James) and Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) affair.
